SALT LAKE CITY—November 4, 2024—Monnit launched three new ALTA® Wireless Sensing products today to benefit multiple customer use cases in many industries. The new ALTA® Wireless MultiStage Thermostat, 15-Amp Latching Relay Control Unit, and the detachable lead with a Threaded National Pipe Tapered (NTP) Hole Mount for the ALTA Industrial Ultrasonic Ranging Sensor are now available.

Automate the Management of Multiple HVAC Systems
The Monnit ALTA® MultiStage Thermostat controls conventional, heat pump, dual-fuel HVAC systems with up to three heating and two cooling stages. It features an integrated motion sensor to auto-detect the occupancy of an area or room. When unoccupied, the thermostat enters a configurable energy-saving mode.
The thermostat is intrinsically tamper-proof since you can only control it via our password-protected iMonnit cloud-based platform. This prevents adjustments by unauthorized parties. The simple front panel interface provides mode and status information via multi-color LEDs.

Our ALTA Wireless Control Units feature two relay switches that can be automatically or manually controlled separately. However, the ALTA Wireless 15-Amp Latching Relay Control Unit has two latching relays that maintain their position even when the unit is powered off. Once their position is set, they will stay there until a command is given to change it. It's helpful when relays must maintain a position even when power is lost.
The ALTA 15-Amp Control Unit's relays can be switched on or off manually in iMonnit or automatically by an alert from an assigned ALTA Wireless Sensor or group of sensors when they detect a preconfigured condition setting or threshold breach.
You can set the default state of each relay to on or off, and your preset sensor messages will cause the relay to switch to the non-default state. The relay returns to its default state when the preset condition isn't met.
For example, if an ALTA Water Detection Sensor senses water at a certain level in a sump pit, the relay will switch on, activating the pump. When water is no longer detected, the relay will switch off, deactivating the pump motor.
Consider these use cases or applications for the ALTA 15-Amp Latching Relay Control Unit:
ALTA Wireless Ultrasonic Ranging Sensors send out a high-frequency sound pulse and then time how long it takes for the echo of the sound to reflect. The sensors use the speed of sound and the time difference between sending and receiving the sound pulse to determine the distance to an object or liquid.
ALTA Ultrasonic Ranging Sensors are impervious to the target surface and color. They feature autocalibration algorithms that allow them to adapt to variable environmental conditions and compensate for temperature and humidity effects.
With the ALTA Industrial Ultrasonic Ranging Sensor, you can purchase a new detachable lead with a 2-inch Threaded National Pipe Tapered (NTP) Hole Mount. The mount's NPT threads can help you easily create a tight, waterproof seal when installing and securing the lead.

It connects and detaches from the sensor housing via a 5-pin connector and is secured using a steel-threaded collar.
The lead's sensing end features a horn around the transducer disc to direct its pulsing echoes into a more precise, narrow pattern.
Install the lead and horn to a tank, container, wall, or panel and measure the distance of liquid and objects in its path.
