Intrinsically Safe ALTA-ISX® Wireless Sensors Honored as Innovative IIoT Products
SALT LAKE CITY (April 19, 2022) – Monnit announced today that its ALTA-ISX® Wireless Sensors received the 2022 IoT Evolution Industrial IoT Product of the Year Award. A global, integrated media company TMC and its partner Crossfire Media announced the awards presented by IoT Evolution World magazine. The award honors the best, most innovative products and solutions powering the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT).
“We’re excited to be honored by experts in the Industrial Internet of Things—IoT Evolution World, backed by TMC and Crossfire Media,” said Monnit Founder and CEO Brad Walters. “The award is valuable validation of our commitment to helping protect industrial workers and facilities while collecting and delivering actionable condition monitoring data with our intrinsically safe ALTA-ISX Sensors.”
An Innovative Suite of IECEx-Certified Sensors
Monnit provides a growing IECEx-certified ALTA-ISX Wireless Sensors line that works safely in hazardous industrial environments within explosive atmospheres. IECEx is the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) System for Certification to Standards Relating to Equipment for Use in Explosive Atmospheres.
Three ALTA-ISX Sensors are available—the Temperature and Dry Contact Sensors and the 300 PSIG Pressure Meter. By the end of 2022, Monnit will add three to six more sensors to its ALTA-ISX product line.
These ALTA-ISX Sensors are not only certified as intrinsically safe in explosive atmospheres of group IIA and hazardous Zone 1 environments, but they’re also:
Incapable of causing a spark or reaching a temperature (class T3) that could ignite an explosive atmosphere comprising a range of group IIA gases or dust
Able to be used in many industrial applications worldwide where combustible gases (group IIA) may be present in Zone 1 areas
Like all ALTA Sensors and Meters, the ALTA-ISX product line runs on an IoT sensor platform that features an outdoor line-of-sight, long-range data transmission of up to one mile, and an indoor non-line-of-sight of up to 1,200+ feet through 12+ walls.
Petrochemical, manufacturing, power generation, construction, architectural woodworking, and other industries can be susceptible to combustible gas, vapor, or mist igniting or exploding.
“Congratulations to recipients of the 2022 Industrial IoT Product of the Year Awards,” said Rich Tehrani, CEO of TMC. “I marvel at how these innovative products and solutions are driving efficiency and productivity gains for their customers. With our partners at Crossfire Media, we all look forward to seeing how their current and future offerings will continue to shape the IIoT landscape.”
For more than 20 years, TMC has been honoring technology companies with awards in various categories. These awards are regarded as some of the most prestigious and respected awards in the communications and technology sector worldwide. Winners represent prominent players in the market who consistently demonstrate the advancement of technologies. Each recipient is a verifiable leader in the marketplace.
