The Rugged, Weatherproof Industrial Sensor Now Features a New Lead For Added Installation Versatility
SALT LAKE CITY—June 26, 2024—Monnit announced today the release of its ALTA® Wireless Industrial Ultrasonic Ranging Sensor with a new durable, mountable, and detachable 3-foot lead.
The new lead responds to customer requests for more installation versatility with the following robust features:
- It connects and detaches from the ALTA Ultrasonic Sensor housing via a 5-pin connector and is secured using a steel-threaded collar.
- The lead's sensing end features a horn around the transducer disc to direct its pulsing echoes into a more precise, narrow pattern.
- Using its easily adjustable bulkhead adapter fitting, you can mount the horn to a tank, container, wall, or panel.
"Our new lead for the ALTA Wireless Ultrasonic Ranging Sensor is a perfect example of how much we value customer feedback in our product development processes," said Monnit Founder and CEO Brad Walters. "Thanks to our customers and engineers, we have another sensor applicable for many industrial use cases while offering more flexible deployment options."
How the ALTA Industrial Ultrasonic Sensor Works
Like the echolocation capabilities of bats and dolphins, the ALTA Industrial Ultrasonic Ranging Sensor functions similarly. To navigate, hunt, and avoid obstacles in dark, tight, and dimly lit areas, these intelligent animals emit screeches and clicks as sound waves and listen for their echoes to determine the distance and location of things.
Our ALTA Ultrasonic Sensors send high-frequency ultrasonic pulses and receive the waves or echoes reflected from a target or object, even liquid. The sensors measure the distance to the target by calculating the time between the sound emission and reception. They are ideal for liquid level and stacking height monitoring and presence detection.
