New Detachable Leads for Current Meters

new sensors with detachable leads

Installing our ALTA Industrial 150 and 500 Amp Single-Phase and Three-Phase Current Meters is now easier due to new detachable leads. The new 3-foot leads have M12 5-pin connectors to attach to the meters’ housing.

This way, you can easily detach a lead and run it through the holes in an electrical control panel. Then, you can connect a lead’s current transformer (CT) to the phase wire you want to monitor and reconnect the lead to the installed meter outside the panel.

In iMonnit Software, you configure the meters to measure:

  • Minimum, maximum, and average in Amp-RMS (root mean square)
  • Current accumulation in Amp-hours and kilowatt-hours

The ALTA 150 and 500 Amp AC Current Meters help you monitor the power consumption of various electrical systems and devices connected to single-phase electrical systems, such as servers, computers, motors, vending machines, etc.

The ALTA 150 and 500 Amp Three-Phase Current Meters help you monitor high-power commercial and industrial machines or equipment, such as HVAC systems and large factory machines connected to three-phase electrical systems.

In many commercial and industrial settings, efficient electrical power management empowers you to preserve productivity, reduce costs, and operate a reliable electrical infrastructure. Monitor electricity usage to optimize power efficiency and predict maintenance with the ALTA Industrial 150 and 500 Amp Current Meters.

Monnit Wins Prestigious IoT Award

Monnit wins another IoT award

Winning awards for our innovative products and work never gets old. We value recognition and feedback from independent, third-party IoT experts.

Monnit recently won the 2024 IoT Evolution IoT Product of the Year Award. Our ALTA® Long-Range Wireless Temperature Monitoring Solutions were honored for their innovation in powering the IoT.

The ALTA Temperature Sensors are at the forefront of our sensing solutions for nearly every industry. Many of our other 80+ wireless IoT sensors also can take temperature measurements. Temperature monitoring of machines, processes, or conditions is critical in practically every use case.

ALTA Temperature Sensors lead our product quality commitment with recent enhancements in power handling and overall accuracy. After receiving the award, Monnit Founder and CEO Brad Walters defined this dedication: "Strong product reliability and long-range wireless connectivity are at the core of the Monnit ethos."

Please take a few minutes to rediscover the temperature monitoring solutions—ALTA Standard, Low, Digital, High, and Duct Temperature Sensors—outlined in our award announcement.

How to Calibrate Wireless Temperature Sensors

how to calibrate a temperature sensor

Calibrated sensors are the precursor to precise, reproducible measurement. Our calibration processes are essential to product quality, safety, and compliance.

Customers in many industries—including food services, pharmaceutical manufacturing, logistics, pest control, facility management, health care, and hospitality—depend on our temperature sensors for exact readings.

To ensure reliable performance and uptime, your ALTA Wireless Temperature Sensors arrive accurately calibrated against a National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST)-certified temperature sensor at ± 1% (± 1°C or 1.8°F). With your additional calibration, you can achieve a greater accuracy of ± 0.25°C (± 0.45°F). We can also provide a one-time or recurring NIST traceable calibration certification.

If you believe an ALTA Temperature Sensor reading is inaccurate, you can recalibrate it using iMonnit. We have a Monnit Knowledgebase video to walk you through the following calibration steps:

  1. Fill an ice bath.
  2. Insert the lead into the bath.
  3. Go to iMonnit and select your sensor.
  4. Enter the temperature of the ice bath.
  5. Click the Calibrate button.
  6. Review the calibration tips.

More detailed instructions are available in the associated Knowledgebase article, which includes:

  • Things to Consider
  • Access the Calibrate Tab
  • Set the Calibration to Default
  • Enter and Save the Calibration Value
  • Calibrate Using the Ice Bath Method

Take some time to review and use our calibration processes to maintain the accuracy of your ALTA Temperature Sensors.
